Best Bars to Watch the Aggie Game on Northgate

Not everyone can get into Kyle Field for every game. Whether you couldn't snag tickets, you're saving money, or you just want to watch the game with a drink in hand — Northgate has you covered.

We ranked the best bars on Northgate for watching Texas A&M football. Gig 'em.

1. The Tap

Why it's #1: Multiple big screens, great sound system, and the crowd energy is almost as good as being in the stadium. The Tap takes game day seriously — they crank the volume, the whole bar is locked in, and the reactions are electric.

Pro tip: Get there at least an hour before kickoff if you want a seat.

2. Carney's Pub

Great specials on game day, solid TV setup, and enough room that you won't be shoulder-to-shoulder the entire time. The patio is a plus if it's a nice day.

Pro tip: Their game day pitcher deals are some of the best on the strip.

3. Dixie Chicken

The Chicken might not have the biggest TVs, but the atmosphere is unmatched. There's something about watching the Aggies win at the oldest bar on Northgate that just hits different.

Pro tip: Grab a seat at the bar early. Standing room fills up fast.

4. Rebel Draught House

If the weather is nice, Rebel's outdoor area is a great spot to catch the game. They usually have a screen set up outside and the vibe is more relaxed than the packed indoor bars.

Game Day Essentials

Here's how to make the most of watching the game on Northgate:

  • Arrive early — At least 60-90 minutes before kickoff
  • Wear maroon — Obviously
  • Know the Yells — Even in a bar, Aggies do the Yells
  • Eat before you go — Bar food is fine, but the lines get long during the game
  • Pace yourself — Games are 3+ hours. Marathon, not a sprint.

The Pregame

The best part about watching the game on Northgate? The pregame. Hit up your favorite spot early, grab some food, and soak in the energy. Northgate on game day is electric no matter where you end up.

After the Game

Win or lose, Northgate keeps going after the final whistle. If the Aggies win, expect the strip to be packed until close. If they lose... well, Northgate is also great for drowning your sorrows.
